Electric Scooter Parts carries band brakes for electric scooters, electric bikes, and electric go karts. Band brakes date back to the horse and buggy days and are one of the oldest types of wheel braking technologies. Band brakes consist of a steel drum shaped rotor attached to a wheel or live axle and a steel band with attached friction braking material which wraps around the rotor and is tightened when the brakes are applied. When replacing electric scooter or bike band brakes make sure to keep the axle plus all of the bolts, washers and spacers in the proper order for easy reinstallation.
